California PEOPLE is AFSCME's legislative and political arm in California, representing 76 locals statewide. We closely monitor issues that affect working families. Our priorities this legislative session include:
- Keeping kids safe by keeping school jobs under local control.
- Giving seniors and disabled people the care they need to live at home.
- Making sure all Californians have access to the health care they need to stay healthy and productive.
- Giving CalWorks the support it needs to put Californians back on their feet.
- Saving juvenile probation programs that make our communities safer.
- Keeping tax dollars close to home and under local control.
- Keeping college doors open for every Californian.
